How to describe these? Echinops blue glow look like golfballs on sticks, so understated. Look superb in any arrangement dried or fresh. Relished by bees, butterflies and humans alike. Super easy to grow perennial. One of my faves.

    Also known as globe thistle

Once established very drought tolerant. Takes a full year to flower from sowing - but it's worth the wait.

Think carefully about its final growing place - Echinops forms a very deep tap root and is practically impossible to move once it's established.

Fabulous for companion planting along side Sea Holly and Sea Lavender Statice.
