Scabiosa 'Fata Morgana'
Scabiosa Fata Morgana seeds - Delicious large creamy apricot coloured blooms on long tall stems.
Approx 15 seeds
Lets talk about them
Scabiosa are a true delight in the garden - easy to grow, prolific bloomers and long strong stems. Beautiful at every stage - From bud to full flower to seed pods. The bees and butterflies love them and even my twins love to pick them. I mean seriously, who doesnt love them? Scabiosa are an absolute firm favourite that I grow year after year in my garden.
How to make these beauties grow
Sow: Autumn or mid spring 6-8 weeks before the last frost.
How: Surface sow and lightly cover. These need light to germinate. (the seed is actually tiny, and inside the dried cone).
Days to Maturity: 80-100 days
Pick: When the flower buds are coloured up, before the tiny flowers open.
Half Hardy Annual
Notes From The Garden
Scabiosa can get a little top heavy, so some staking or netting required.
Seed pods geat for drying.
Much loved by the bees.
These can be autumn sown and over wintered if you protect them from frosts by growing in a cold frame/greenhouse.
