Veronica 'Blue Shades'
Veronica blue shades seeds - Just perfect tall stems of long blue spires. Last forever in the vase, and blooms well for a 1st year perennial (epic in its 2nd year).
Veronica longifolia
Approx 20 seeds
Lets talk about them
...
Veronica is a stunning perennial, it will flower from mid-summer all the way through to Autumn. Its perfect as a cut flower with tall stems and excellent vase life. Its equally loved by bees, butterflies and humans alike. Absolutely oozing cottage garden vibes whether you grow veronica en masse in the garden or for cut flowers, you will not be disappointed.
How to make these beauties grow
...
Sow: Autumn or early spring. 8-10 weeks before the last frost.
How: Surface sow and lightly cover with vermiculite.
Space: 40cm
Height: 90cm
Where: Full sun to partial shade
Days to Maturity: 180-365. My autumn sown plants flowered in mid-summer (and have done so all summer long)
Pick: When the first 1/2 of the flowers are open
Perennial
Notes From The Garden
Vernalisation required for flowering (i.e a cool period is required for several weeks).
Drought hardy once established and requires little attention. Split the clumps every few years. Looks beautiful planted en masse.
For a perennial Veronica is delightfully easy to germinate and grow.
