Shipping, Returns & General Info

Postage and packaging for seeds and equipment

(Subject to change)

I aim to send all orders within 1- 2 working days, on occasion at very busy times it may take a bit longer. All shipping timeframes are a guide only. 

​

1- 10 Packets of Seeds via standard shipping: $5 (snail mail - non tracked, allow up to 3 weeks for delivery). All seed orders of 10 + are automatically sent via courier. Seed orders of 1-10 you can chose to have your seeds sent via tracked courier, just select this option at checkout.

 

1- 10 Packets of Seeds/ 10+ Seeds via courier: $8.50 for urban $10.50 for rural (1-5 days, add an extra 1-2 days for rural delivery)

 

Soil blockers & other products via courier: $8.50 - $20 depending on your order/location - calculated at check out.

All courier orders you will receive a tracking number from Go Sweet Spot (check your junk emails if you haven't received it!). If you have not received your courier order within 7 working days of sending please get in touch.

Our seed packets are made of Kraft paper and PLA - these are 100% biodegradable. However these need to be placed into a commercial composting facility or hot home composting system.

 

Returns & refunds

Please check your orders as soon as they arrive – any errors or issues let me know with 48hours of receiving your order.

Unfortunately once opened I cannot accept returns for seeds. This is because they are perishable item and once subjected to the elements they are out of my control with too many variables involved, which will begin the deprecation of the seeds. Other products must be return unopened, unused and in their original packaging within 14 days of purchase. Refunds for change of mind are not accepted. Refunds or store credits are for the cost of goods only. â€‹

Seed germination

​

Please follow all sowing instructions carefully. All of my seeds are purchased from exceptionally reliable suppliers and are of the highest quality. When the season permits I germinate test a small batch of each variety of seeds. If your seeds fail and you believe it because of quality, please let me know and I will re-run a germination test - should I agree it is due to the seeds I will happily replace or offer store credit for the price of the seeds only. All seeds are intended to be sown within the same year of purchase. Any claims for seeds purchased after 1 year will be void. 

 

Some seeds are a lot trickier to germinate (looking at you perennials), slow or erratic to grow – sometimes taking over 3 months+, or even an entire growing season, and several cycles of cold stratification before germination occurs. All the seeds I have available for sale I have either grown or growing - I am happy to give advice or answer any questions.

On purchasing any seeds or other products from Barrhill Blooms you accept the following conditions:

All growing advice and product description is a guide only, and given in good faith as being accurate. Natural variations can occur due to location, soil condition/health, natural mutation and personal growing techniques. Barrhill Blooms will not accept any responsibility for the accuracy of the information provided. In the event of the purchased seeds are mislabeled the purchase price of the seeds only will be refunded. Barrhill Blooms is not liable for any loss or damage (financial or to property) arising directly or indirectly from any mis-description, defect or crop failure from any product purchased through www.barrhillblooms.co.nz. Any claims are limited to the purchase price of the product only. If courier orders have not arrived within 7 days, contact must be made. Failure to do so will invalidate any claim compensation with the courier company as specified in their terms and conditions.

Conditions of sale - dahlia tubers

​

Please inspect your tubers on arrival, if for whatever reason you are not happy send an email including pictures within 48hrs of receiving them. Mislabels - I have very carefully labelled all my tubers, however if I have mislabeled a tuber please let me know and I will gladly send you a replacement next year (or refund if I no longer choose to grow that particular tuber). Disease - All tubers are thoroughly inspected and checked for disease (and all deemed disease free prior to sending). If any dahlia associated disease arises throughout the grow season, unfortunately I will not refund the cost of the tuber - this is due to the nature of these diseases and the possibility of contamination from other sources or already residing in your soil.

Note on ‘Approx’

​

All my seeds are packed by volume, so please allow an error +/- 5%. However if you find your packet is for some crazy reason missing too many seeds let me know ASAP (before sowing).
