I love phlox a super addition to any garden as it’s so versatile. As a stand alone statement in a vase or as a filler in bouquets. Phlox flowers all summer long and well into autumn. I'd even go as far to say that this an absolute filler staple for me now - I love it so much.

Notes from the garden
...
An inadvertent experiment saw me overwintering phlox seedlings in my garden. They survived (-5 temps and snow!) and then thrived! I had phlox flowers in late October. So I will be 100% be autumn sowing again this year and overwintering.
My absolute top tip for germinating phlox is to place (the sowed seed trays) into a supermarket freezer bag and leave in a warm place. As phlox seeds need complete darkness to germinate. I check on the bag every few days and once germination occurs move to the light.
Succession sowing highly recommended - Phlox starts to get abit spindly and tired after a few months of hard out picking.
Plants can tangle easy - Netting or staking recommended.
